Prof. Antônio Marcus Nogueira Lima

Federal University of Campina Grande, Brazil

Antônio Marcus Nogueira Lima was born in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil, in 1958. He received the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Universidade Federal da Paraíba - UFPB, Campina Grande, Paraíba, Brazil in 1982 and 1985, respectively. He received his doctoral degree in electrical engineering in 1989 from Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse - INPT, Toulouse, France. He was with the Escola Técnica Redentorista - ETER, Campina Grande, Paraíba, Brazil from 1977 to 1982 and was a Project Engineer at Sul-America Philips, Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil, from 1982 to 1983. From 1983 to March 2002 he was with the Electrical Engineering Department of UFPB where he became Full Professor in 1996. At UFPB he was Coordinator of Graduate Studies from 1991 to 1993 and from 1997 to 2002. Since April 2002 he has been with the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Universidade Federal de Campina Grande - UFCG. At UFCG, where he is Full Professor, he was Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering from 2002 to 2010. His current research interests are in the fields of electrical machines and drive systems, power electronics, industrial automation, embedded systems, electronic instrumentation, control systems and system identification.


Prof. Alexandre Cunha Oliveira

Federal University of Paraiba, Brazil

Alexandre Cunha was born in Fortaleza , Ceará, Brazil, in 1970. He received the Bachelor’s, Master’s., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Paraíba, Campina Grande, Paraíba, Brazil, in 1993, 1995, and 2003, respectively. From 1996 to 2004, he was a Faculty Member with the Electrical Engineering Department, Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica of Maranhão, Brazil. Since November 2004, he has been with the Electrical Engineering Department of Federal University of Campina Grande, Campina Grande, Paraíba, Brazil, where he is currently a Professor of Electrical Engineering. His research interests include electrical drives, power electronics, control systems, and energy quality.


Prof. Leandro Michels

Federal University of Santa Maria, Brazil

Leandro Michels received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), Santa Maria, Brazil, in 2002 and 2006, respectively. Since 2009, he has been with the Power Electronics and Control Research Group, UFSM, where he is a Professor. He is the Technical Manager of Photovoltaic (PV) Inverter Testing Laboratory of GEPOC/UFSM. He has authored more than 70 technical papers. He holds three Brazilian patents. Since 2013, he has been a Fellow of Productivity in Technological Development and Innovative Extension (DT-1D) of CNPq/Brazil. In 2011, he was the General Chair of the 5th Power Electronics and Control Seminar, and in 2013, he was the Technical co-Chair of the 12th Brazilian Power Electronics Conference. His current research interests include PV systems, modeling and control of power electronic systems, and applied digital control. Dr. Michels is a member of the administrative committee of the Brazilian Power Electronics Society.


Prof. Demercil de Souza Oliveira Júnior

Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil

Demercil de Souza Oliveira Júnior was born in Santos, São Paulo, Brazil, in 1974. He received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Uberlândia, Uberlândia, Brazil, in 1999 and 2001, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Florianopolis, Brazil, in 2004. Currently, he is a Researcher in the Group of Power Processing and Control, Federal University of Ceará, Ceará, Brazil. His interest areas include dc/dc conversion, soft commutation, and renewable energy applications.
